As we make our way along Route 62, you’ll get to experience some incredible wine estates, taste delicious local food, and enjoy the beautiful landscapes — from open plains to rugged mountains. Along the way, keep an eye out for some unique wildlife, like the meerkats and the ostriches in this area.

Days Highlights / Activities:
Your Route 62 Garden Route journey begins with a warm welcome at Cape Town International Airport, where your guide will be ready to greet you. From there, you’ll enjoy a relaxed drive to Montagu, passing through the scenic town of Robertson. Along the way, take in the stunning views of the rolling hills and vineyards that make this part of South Africa so special.
A highlight of the day is a stop at one of Robertson’s renowned wine estates. Here, you’ll have the chance to savor a selection of their finest wines . It’s the perfect way to experience the region’s rich wine culture before continuing your scenic journey to Montagu, where you’ll settle in and enjoy the rest of your day.
You’ll kick off the day with a peaceful and scenic river, wine, and cheese cruise at Viljoensdrift. As you drift along the river, you’ll have the chance to spot some incredible birdlife in the area while enjoying a glass of local wine and a selection of cheeses. It’s a laid-back experience, perfect for taking in the beauty of the surroundings and the calm of the river.
After the cruise, we’ll make our way to Oudtshoorn, with a few stops at some of the area’s must-see spots along the way. From local landmarks to scenic viewpoints, there’s plenty to take in as we journey through this beautiful part of South Africa. It’s a day full of relaxation, nature, and discovery.
After a relaxed and enjoyable breakfast, today is all about exploring some of the region’s most unique attractions. First, we’ll head to the Cango Caves, where you’ll get to wander through stunning underground chambers filled with incredible limestone formations. Whether you’re just taking in the beauty or joining a guided tour to learn about the caves’ history, it’s a truly memorable experience.
Next, we’ll visit an ostrich farm, where you’ll get a chance to see these fascinating birds up close. You’ll learn about ostrich farming, how the birds are raised, and maybe even get the chance to feed them. It’s a fun, hands-on experience that gives you a glimpse into rural life in South Africa.
After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll start our relaxing drive back to Cape Town. As we wind our way through the beautiful countryside, you’ll have one last chance to take in the stunning landscapes and reflect on the highlights of your journey. The drive is calm and scenic, providing a perfect, peaceful end to your trip. By the time we arrive back in Cape Town, you’ll have a wealth of wonderful memories from the past few days.
