We start this tour with the Dutch and British colonialism of Cape Town. The tour includes visits to the District Six Museum and the Slave Lodge. We showcase why Cape Town is so diverse compared to the other provinces in South Africa and we showcase the Cuisine that is special to the Cape community.

 

You do get to taste this wonderful food at lunchtime. We then drive to the townships where you have an opportunity to walk with a local tour guide through the township. You will meet the locals, communicate with them. You will also meet the communities that were forcibly removed in the early years by the apartheid government. We will visit a few entrepreneurs in the townships that are self-sustainable.

This tour allows you to see how communities can strive to live together and make things work for themselves even in difficult times. This tour is conducted by Guides who grew up in the Townships and the experience is done with passion and knowledge

CAPE TOWN CITY TOUR (HALF DAY TOUR)

Experience the history of the City of Cape Town and why Cape Town is the Mother City of the South Africa.

FALSE BAY LEISURE BEACH & BIRD WATCHING TOUR (FULL DAY)

We drive all the way to Gordon’s Bay where you have an opportunity to wither walk or swim in this glossy sea under the Kogelberg Mountains. After an hour we will drive Strand Beach. This long white sandy beach is always tempting to walk, play and swim.

 

You can play beach tennis, beach cricket or just relax and tan on this beach. We then leave for the coastal drive along the Muizenberg coast to Muizenberg Beach. We will stop at the Wolfgat nature reserve for Birdwatching, scenery and photo opportunity along this beautiful stretch of road where you can view both the Kogelberg and Table Mountain range surrounding the False Bay Coast.

 

 

We will then drive to Muizenberg, watch the surfers and Kite surfers strut their stuff on this beach. For lunch, we will drive to Kalk Bay to have the famous Kalk Bay Fish & chips and for the Vegetarians, salad and chips. After lunch, we drive back to Rondevlei Nature Reserve where Birdwatching is a must. This nature reserve has 4 bird hides and lots of vegetation, hippos and various reptiles. After a full day of leisure and birdwatching we make our way back to the city.

HERMANUS WHALE WATCHING TOURS(late August to November)

Whale season between August & November attracts tourists from all over the world.)

Land and boat whale-watching can be enjoyed in the holiday town of Hermanus. The Southern Right Whale and the Humpbacked whale comes into our waters to mate and calve every year during these months and it is a sight to be enjoyed by all who love animals.

 

Visit the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens on the way back from this whale watching tour. This Botanical Garden boasts the King Protea (South African National Flower)

Experience the Western Cape magnificent Mountain scenery.

Visit the Museum of Tulbagh (the epicentre of our Earthquake in the 1960’s).
Visit Ceres our Citrus Fruit farming area.
Visit Worcester, (Kleinplasie Museum) which showcases how people used to survive in early 1700 to 1800’s.
This tour can become an overnight stay which will give you the chance to visit Robertson, Montagu & Ashton. This is another interesting wine route to taste and compare to the previous wine routes.

WEST COAST FLOWER TOUR (late August/September)

The West Coast Flower Tours are offered by us on a day tour basis, where you can view the beauty of these wild flowers that comes out for only a few months. For the people who loves birds, this tour can also offer a wide variety of bird life especially when it is flower season.

These tours will operate every day during August to October from Cape Town. We will pick up at your accommodation on your request in the City centre.

Perhaps nowhere else on the face of the earth is the season of spring welcomed by nature with such extravagant exuberance as it is in the Flower Season in the Cape and Namaqualand. After good winter rainfall the landscape becomes a carpet of wildflowers with beautiful different coloured Daisies and Succulents.

DAY 1 – Oudshoorn

Depart at 8.30am on the Route 62 route to town of Worcester, Barrydale, Ladismith & Calitzdorp to Oudtshoorn the (the feather capital of the world).

DAY 2 – Knysna

Ostrich Farm – Before we leave Oudtshoorn we will visit the Ostrich farm for a Tour that will enlighten you on this big bird the Ostrich.
Drive over the Outeniqua Mountain Pass (beautiful views) to the George, Wilderness & Knynsa. (We will stop in the Wilderness to view the scenery)
Drive to Knysna where you will have the opportunity to take a sunset cruise on the Lagoon to view the “Heads of Knysna”
Overnight in Knysna

DAY 3 – Mossel Bay back to Cape Town

We depart to Cape Town via Mossel Bay.

Diaz Museum – This Museum showcases the voyage of Vasco Da Gama & Bartholemeu Diaz who sailed from Portugal to India. The Post office tree is said to be the 1st Post office recorded in South Africa.
Visit the Aloe Factory shop where you will get a demonstration of the usefulness of the Aloe Plant.
Travel back to Cape Town on the N2.

KRUGER SAFARI OR MALARIA FREE SAFARI, GARDEN ROUTE AND CAPE TOWN TOUR

DAY 1 – 3 SAFARI – Arrive in South Africa. Connect to a Lodge of your choice at the Kruger National Park – it will be our pleasure to provide you with information on various options for your choice of Lodge and guide you through your choice according to your criteria. Kruger is renowned for the quality of its Safari experiences – you will be taken on a Morning and Evening Safari and have the opportunity to view a wide variety of wildlife (including the famous “Big Five” – the lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino), bird life, flora and fauna.

DAY 4 – Short flight to Johannesburg, Connect to a flight to Port Elizabeth. Your Tour Guide will meet you at the Airport. You will be taken on a guided tour of the 1800 settlers to Port Elizabeth. Overnight in Port Elizabeth. (All accommodations on the Tour are personally chosen by us for their comfort and hospitality and we can discuss options if desired).

DAY 5 – Depart Port Elizabeth for Knysna. Today your Guide will drive to Tsitsikamma National Park (also known as the place of many waters). Take a scenic walk to the swing bridge over the Storms River Mouth or if you like adventure then you can go rafting or speed boating. Other things to do in this area – Bungee Jumping, Canopy Zipline Tours, Whale watching and swimming in summer. Drive to Knysna via Plettenberg Bay. Overnight in Knysna.

 

DAY 6 – KNYSNA – Today we will depart for Oudtshoorn after we have spent the morning in Knysna. We will visit the Heads, Waterfront and the Beach in Knysna. Depart for Oudtshoorn later in the day and drive through the beautiful Wilderness and George Towns. Arrive in Oudtshoorn late afternoon. Book in at an Ostrich Farm Lodge, overnight in Oudshoorn.

DAY 7- OSTRICH TOURS & CANGO CAVES – Today we will visit the Cango Caves with its beautiful Stalimite and Stalitite formations. We will also do an Ostrich Farm Tour where you will learn all about this facsinating and prevalent bird in South Africa and even have an opportunity to try your hand at riding one if you wish! We will then take a beautiful scenic drive to Stellenbosch. We will overnight in Stellenbosch (in the heart of South Africa’s wine country).

DAY 8 – WINE TOUR – Today we will do a Wine Tour which includes 3 wine routes with wine tasting at the Wine Estates in each of these regions, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschoek. We will cover the history and the different wines from these regions and have an opportunity to sample wines if desired. The scenic beauty of the region will also be one of the highlights of this day. Drive to Cape Town and overnight in Cape Town.

DAY 9 – CAPE PENINSULA AND TABLE MOUNTAIN – We will start the day ( weather permitting) with a visit to Table Mountain. Afterwards we depart for Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak to Cape Point Nature Reserve. We will spend time at the Nature reserve with a visit to the Cape of Good Hope. We will then drive to Boulders Beach to view the African Penguin. We will drive back to Cape Town via Simonstown and overnight there again.

DAY 10 – CULTURAL TOUR INCLUDING ROBBEN ISLAND – Early morning start to the Robben Island Tour which is approximately 3 hrs. This tour includes the boat trip and a tour of the Island and prison where Nelson Mandela and other famous political activists spent so many years before their eventual release to lead the creation of a free democratic South Africa. In the afternoon we will return to the Townships around Cape Town for the Cultural Tour where you will learn about colonization in South Africa, you will be taken on a walking tour with a local tour guide, interact with the locals and see how small business thrives in the Townships.

NELSON MANDELA HISTORY AND LEISURE TOUR

Tour with us in the Footsteps of Mr Mandela by enjoying both the history and the beauty of our country South Africa.

Day 1 – Arrive in Cape Town – visit Table Mountain & Kirstenbosch where Mr Mandela has a flower named after him.

 

Day 2 – Robben Island Tour & Half Day City Tour – Mr Mandela spent 18 years in prison. A 3-hour tour which half day city tour – visit cape town city hall where Mr Mandela made his first Freedom Speech after he was freed.

 

Day 3 – Cape Peninsula Tour, visit Hout Bay, Chapmans Peak, Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope and African penguin colony. Drive back via Pollsmoor prison where Mr Mandela spent some of his prison time.

 

Day 4 – Winelands Tour – Visit to see the cheetah outreach centre, 2 wine tastings and a visit to the prison Mr Mandela spent his last years in prison and where he was released in February 1990. We will also visit the flat where he spent his last years in prison.

Day 5 & 6 – Garden Route, drive to Knysna, stop along Mossel Bay overnight in Knysna, visit the heads in Knysna and a cruise on the lagoon – depart for Nelson Mandela Bay (Port Elizabeth) visit the 1800 early British settler history-drive to East London.

Day 7 – Drive to East London – visit Grahamstown & overnight in East London

Day 8 – Visit the Nelson Mandela museum where you will be taken on a full day tour of Mveso, Qunu, Fort Hare. This is where Mr Mandela was born, grew up, retired and is now his resting place.

Day 9 – Fly to Johannesburg – Soweto & Apartheid museum. Apartheid museum opened its doors in 2001. It is the heart of the apartheid story. Soweto history is rich in stories of the past and the present day. Visit the house Nelson Mandela first house.

Day 10 – Visit Lilieslief farm, constitutional hill & the state building. Visit Lilieslief farm which was the secret hiding place of the ANC and where the leaders were arrested leading up to the Rivonia trial. We will also visit the union buildings where Mr Mandela was sworn in as the first democratic president on the 27 April 1994.

ZIPLINING IN ELGIN

This is an amazingly scenic adventure. You will find yourself taking in breathtaking mountain views from a unique point of view. You will receive a full safety briefing and all gear and equipment needed in order to enjoy the thrill of sliding along from one point to the next. There are options to take a leisurely stroll through the forest if you are afraid of heights or weigh more than 120kg. Safety is on the forefront of the group with civil engineers laying out each of the 7 locations. The tour caters for all ages from 7 and older. Some level of fitness is required as some walking is involved. Dress comfortably in appropriate shoes for walking Flip flops will not be allowed as they will be lost. Dresses and miniskirts are not recommended. The tour will take between 2-4 hours to complete. At this time, we will be heading back to your hotel stopping along the way at Trawlers which is an amazing fish and chip shop.

SANDBOARDING IN ATLANTIS

Perfect for the adventure seeker who isn’t afraid to take a few tumbles. The pristine dunes of Atlantis are only 55Km away from Cape Town. Upon arrival you will receive a short instructional demonstration from a SA sandboarding champ and be supplied with the sandboards you will be using for the day after this you will be able to attempt the hills on your own. Available for ages 12 and older. After working up an appetite we will be heading off to Jerry’s Burgers in Blouburg which is sure to satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst with a selection of craft beers or delicious milkshakes for those with a sweet tooth after lunch you will head back to Cape.

QUAD BIKING IN ELGIN

This is one of the unique activities on offer in the Elgin area. Offering amazing views of the false bay area as well as the unique Fynbos which is indigenous to the Western Cape exclusively. In addition, you have a choice of 3 routes

1. The Adventure quad trail which should be completed between 2-2.5 hours.
2. The Waterfall quad trail is slightly more challenging and offers an option for a dip in the clear river pools and lasts between 3.5-4 hours.
3. Previous quad biking experience is required for the Full day quad trail as it snakes along narrow passes. It also includes a scenic lunch at a viewing point or point of interest

In the event that option 1 or 2 is selected lunch will be served at The Barn at Old Mc Daddy which is situated just 20 minutes away before we head back to Cape Town

SHARK CAGE DIVING

Immerse yourself into the world of the oceans apex predator. Gaansbaai is the home of the most feared of all sharks. The great white shark is known to grow up to 6m in length. This unique experience will offer the opportunity to get up close and personal with these majestic fish and encounter them face to face. Safety is however on the forefront with every precaution accounted for from inspection of the boat and cage to qualified dive masters and a level 3 medic aboard. No experience is needed as you will be safely in the cage. You will however need to be able to hold your breath as to view the sharks as they approach. They will be lured by a mixture of fish bits and liquid. The sharks are however not fed. Before you set out on the ocean you will receive a safety briefing while a light breakfast is served. Upon your return you will be given an opportunity to freshen up at the headquarters as they do offer shower facilities as well
